Committed to a Better Future for Maple Ridge
I believe in a future where Maple Ridge’s hardworking businesses are supported and new ones feel confident putting down roots. I also believe our community deserves smart, creative ways to keep life affordable. When we rethink how we operate, find real efficiencies, and make thoughtful choices about how we grow, we set Maple Ridge up to thrive economically, socially, and sustainably.

Meet Jerry Kok
Jerry Kok is a community advocate and public leader committed to strengthening neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, and ensuring transparent leadership.
With many years of volunteering and leading community organizations, Jerry's involvement has brought him to the position to take the next step in leading Maple Ridge forward.
Jerry is running as an independent because it allows him to look at the community as a whole and listen to people without being tied to a group’s agenda. It means every voice can be heard, and there’s no internal pressure for councillors to vote a certain way. Independence makes it easier to collaborate honestly, find common ground, and focus on what matters to residents rather than what benefits a slate.
“When leaders listen, communities thrive. Maple Ridge deserves decisions shaped by the people who live here”
— Jerry Kok

Campaigning News
Debates are happening
Over the last two debates< Jerry announced two more positions that he will take:
1) At a time when many families and businesses in our community are carefully managing their budgets, it is important that we lead by example. That is why I am proposing a one-year wage freeze for the Mayor and Council. This measure demonstrates our commitment to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and ensures that we are sharing in the financial realities faced by our residents. While this action alone will not solve every budget challenge, it sends a clear message that Council is prepared to make difficult decisions and put the interests of our community first.
2) Economic development doesn't happen by accident. It requires vision, collaboration, and a clear plan. Today, I am pleased to announce the Mayor's Task Force on Economic Development, bringing together business leaders, community stakeholders, and local experts to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and help create the conditions for investment, job creation, and long-term prosperity. Together, we will build a stronger local economy that benefits residents, businesses, and future generations of Maple Ridge.
